I finally saw Hunger Games on stage….. There is m

I finally saw Hunger Games on stage…..

There is much to admire with the stage version of The Huger Games, with a technically ambitious and often visually arresting adaptation that certainly understands the scale of the books even if it doesn’t capture the emotional pulse. Without the tension and intimacy that makes this story so compelling however it feels more like a spectacle to observe rather than a story to be swept up in.

My November! A bit less stagey than normal although did still fit in Wicked:For Good, @sedoslondon production of Dreamgirls and a trip to @churchill_bromley as well as a tour of Sydney Opera House whilst away and of course numerous cocktails with a view!

Murder at Midnight at @churchill_bromley delivers an evening that is pacey and playful even if its tonal juggling act somewhat blunts its impact. It may not offer the most satisfying payoff nor the sharpest balance of chills and chuckles but it provides enough energy, twists and theatrical flair to keep audiences entertained at the clock strikes twelve.

Last night after 3 weeks out if the country I was back reviewing! I headed to one of my most regular haunts this year, the bridewell theatre to check out @sedoslondon production of Dreamgirls for a production that was every bit as satisfying as Effies final Act 1 note!

This week I attended The Constant Cold as part of

This week I attended The Constant Cold as part of @grimfestuk.

In the horror genre tension build up is key and this show seemed to lack this however it was a really interesting premise and one that I would love to see developed over a longer one act play. My ⭐️⭐️ review is on my website.

Whilst I’ve not been as involved in @bromleyplayers production of Rent as I have been in their recent shows I needed to take a moment of appreciation to shout out to all of my very talented friends who brought this moving show to life for me!! Proud to have been even the smallest part of the show working front of house all week!
