It is no surprise that in the current political climate The Crucible remains compelling and relevant viewing. Thanks to a clear portrayal of the text and some of the finest acting I’ve seen on an amateur stage @sedoslondon ’ have succeeded in showing that whilst the Crucible may be set in the past it is very much a play for the present.

I headed up to York for the weekend and whilst at @york_gin I learned of the tale of the grey lady and the ghost story behind it! She haunts the theatre which was built on the site of The Old Hospital where one of the nuns fell in love with the son of a local aristocrat however she was found out and imprisoned in a windowless room which was then bricked up! That room is said to be behind the dress circle and she now haunts the circle….if you see her it’s supposed to mean success for that production!

I adore @benjaminbuttonmusical for many reasons and The Pickled Crab is just one of them! For those that haven’t seen the show there is a small ‘pub’ that sits alongside the ambassadors theatre and named after the pub in the show itself-it sells Cornish food & drink, has posters and news clippings relevant to the show and also has a space where solo theatre goer can meet each other!! I adore it!
