Brunch at The Musicals

I was kindly invited along to check out brunch at the musicals. The basic info is:

  • Location: Harrild & Sons, 26 Farringdon Street, London EC4A 4AB
  • Time: 1pm – 4pm
  • Price – Either £35 for a welcome drink and a main course or £55 for bottomless prosecco/cocktails for 90 minutes and a main course.

Brunch At The Musicals features a cast of West End performers along with a great selection of high quality food. On the day I attended our host was Karla Bear and the event featured Natalie Green (Wicked, Prince of Egypt, Les Miserables), Joshua Liburd (The Book of Mormon and Motown) and Venus Everest (Cats, Priscilla Queen of the Desert and La Cage Aux Folles).

Our host kicked the event off with a huge amount of energy, pitching it just right with performance, crowd interaction and jokes. The performers were also incredibly talented. Natalie performed songs from classic shows such as Wicked and Waitress and Joshua performed numbers from Kinky Boots as well as ‘I Just Don’t Want To Stop,’ and more. Venus Everest took to the floor with as a lip sync queen with numbers such as Cell Block Tango, jumping into splits and whilst her kicks were high her energy was higher getting involved even in between sets!

The line up changes each week but if you see any of these 4 performers you will be in for a treat. The balance between their styles was also well thought out as was the pacing of the show itself. The event, whilst consistently high energy started off with the slower numbers giving people a chance to eat whilst enjoying the entertainment. As the event progressed the party atmosphere really got going and by the final set there were people up on the floor dancing with the performers. By the time 4pm rolled around much of the crowd didn’t look like they intended on going anywhere and were content to carry on the party!

Talking of being given a chance to eat the selection of main courses was great. I had the steak and Mr Musical Theatre Musings had the burger and we were both thoroughly impressed…so much so that I would recommend the food at Harrild & Sons at any time, even if not at the brunch. There was also a good selection of cocktails and free flowing prosecco for the first 9 minutes of the event.

If you are looking for something stagey to do that isn’t going to the theatre then I would highly recommend getting yourself along to Brunch at The Musicals. You can find out more and buy tickets here.

Feel free to check out my Reel and Tik Tok of this event over on Instagram and TikTok!
